When I was asked by photographer Alexandra Cameron, if I wanted to do the make-up for a model, who would be sat on a 6ft wooden rocking horse and shoot on location , my obvious reaction was ‘YES’! I always love collaborating with this team, it never feels like work and we always have such a lovely creative day, with amazing results.
So, off we went to Wandlebury woods just outside of Cambridge and watched a horse being built and then Skye our fantastic model hopped on! or should I say climbed on using the ladder..!
My brief was to keep Skye’s already pale skin, quite light, so I wanted to enhance this and so I used a highlighter to pick up her amazing cheekbones. My favourite is the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar and Glow palette, which is just amazing, it gives the skin a warm radiance and I used the Wonder Glow primer underneath to add a gorgeous dewy finish. I also wanted to define her eye brows and keep them quite full, so I filled them in using a brow powder and set with a brow finishing gel. Eyes were enhanced with a bold orange shadow, I used Shu Uemura Vivid Orange and to add a deeper pigment I used the Mac Melon Pigment on top. I used a brown mascara, as I wanted the lashes to be played down for this look. To enhance the woodland inspired theme I used the Ciate Flower Manicure set, I individually took out the tiny delicate natural flowers and scattered them on the cheekbone, holding them in place with Duo glue. For the lips I used Estee Lauders Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Envious.
